Outsell Named to Inc. 5000 As One of America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies

Digital Marketing SaaS Company Lands on Inc. 5000 for Second Consecutive Year; Success in Selling Into Top Auto Brands Fuels Company’s Swift Growth

Outsell announced today that it has landed on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies for the second consecutive year. Outsell moved up more than 2000 spots from last year’s ranking, to #833, and joins Yelp, Marketo, Coupons.com and HubSpot among other prominent brands featured on this year’s list.

“Now, more than ever, we depend on Inc. 500/5000 companies to spur innovation, provide jobs, and drive the economy forward. Growth companies, not large corporations, are where the action is,” said Inc. Editor Eric Schurenberg.

Outsell was named to the list based on a three-year revenue growth rate of 409 percent. The company’s total revenue in 2011 was $12.3 million, a near 50-percent increase over 2010. Outsell was also named the 68th fastest-growing company in the Software sector, and the 14th fastest-growing company in the Minneapolis area. In 2008, the company had just 29 employees; by the end of 2012, it will have more than 80.

Outsell’s Digital Engagement Platform offers automotive manufacturers and dealers the ability to consistently engage with consumers across distributed dealer sales networks from the national to local level. This intuitive platform makes it easy for brands, dealers and their agencies to effectively engage with consumers.

Outsell has successfully delivered its digital marketing solutions to some of the biggest brands in the auto industry, including Toyota and Chevrolet through agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi and Agency 720/Omnicom. More than 1,000 dealers across the nation currently use the Outsell platform, and they’re seeing a 5-to-1 return on investment, minimum, by selling 2 to 15 more cars every month along with hundreds of additional repair orders.

The company recently moved to new headquarters in downtown Minneapolis, doubling the size of its previous office space to accommodate its growth.

“We are thrilled to rank once again on Inc.’s list of America’s fastest-growing private companies and see a significant jump in our position,” said Mike Wethington, Founder and CEO of Outsell, LLC. “Auto brands recognize that targeted, relevant digital marketing has a direct impact on their revenue and profitability. Congratulations to all Outsell associates on their hard work, and thanks to our clients for giving us the opportunity to help them succeed.”

Methodology
The 2012 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2008 to 2011. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2008. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2011. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2008 is $100,000; the minimum for 2011 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at www.inc.com/500.
