FC Outsell VS. Another Day in Paradise
First match of the season for FC OUTSELL (FC = “football club” for those of you soccer-illiterate folk)
Perfect start to the season on the 1st of November 2012; we had a great turn out (12 players spanning 5 different departments) for the 6-a-side game, which meant plenty of subs, great morale, and an energy unique to Outsell. This was naturally reflected in the performance and result.
With the support from adopted mascot Amy Van Schepen, we played well from the first whistle on. Goal keeping skills from Insights man Nipun Jain kept the opponents’ shots at bay, whist Chat agent Jorge Bernal-Delgado scored a superb goal with the outside of his right foot, whilst calmly leaping over 2 wounded players on the ground.* Likewise Miles Marmo showed great skill and eloquent footwork, as well as being the top goal scorer.
*some descriptions maybe based on conjecture or Outsell hearsay.
Our first game, for us, turned out to be just ‘Another day in paradise’. ; )
Scoring sheet:
Miles – 4
Michael – 2
Jorge – 1
Dinesh -1
Though there wasn’t an enormous difference in the final score (8-6 to Outsell) it was safe to say we cruised to victory! Well done team!
But most of all well done to those who came along who had never played soccer before. Your bravery and commitment is unprecedented and Outsell is lucky to have you. We worked as a team, and it paid off. We urge more people to come, either to play or just to support us, as it is clearly evidential that you need not have experience to participate!
