Outsell’s Holiday Charity Drives: Part 1

Giving Back to Those in Need

In honor of the recent Thanksgiving holiday, the Outsell Caring Committee organized the First Annual Outsell Food Drive. Between November 11th and 23rd Outsell employees donated 1113 pounds of food for the Joyce Uptown Food Shelf (JUFS) and Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA), along with high demand items like cleaning supplies, detergent, bathroom supplies, and personal hygiene products.

Each person & family in need receives 3 days worth of food (approximately 15 pounds) and two household items. The amount donated by Outsell will supply 70 people with 15 pounds each.

“This year it is more important than ever to reach out to people in need, and since we have all been so blessed here, we want to share what we have with people who would otherwise go without during this holiday season.”

The company was split into teams to add some competition to the project, providing all groups with additional donations for their specific represented charitable organization.

The winning team, headed by Jon Petron, earned $1000 for the Feed My Starving Children organization, with Outsell’s other charitable organizations each receiving $500. You can see all of the organizations Outsell supports on the Outsell Caring Committee page on our website.

A big thank you to all who participated in this first of hopefully many food drives, and a thank you to the Joyce Uptown Food Shelf and Southern Anoka Community Assistance for giving us the opportunity to give back this holiday season.

Another fantastic fund-raiser is coming up for the Christmas holiday season, so stay tuned.
