Outsell announced today that the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal has selected its Chief Technology Officer Bryan Harwood as a CIO of the Year Honoree in the category “Emerging Company CIO.” The award recognizes senior technology executives, and Harwood was chosen by a panel of judges from the Twin Cities’ IT-executives field who scored nominees on criteria ranging from use of innovative technologies to communication skills to community involvement.

Harwood’s role at Outsell includes traditional CIO responsibilities, including leading Outsell’s IT team through a product and software development process that aligns overall business strategies to deliver Outsell’s award-winning digital SaaS platform to the marketplace. Outsell has successfully delivered this solution to some of the biggest brands in the auto industry, and it is a game-changer for the manufacturers and dealers that are utilizing it to maximize consumer engagement and boost sales and service revenues. In addition to his many contributions to the company, Harwood is the executive sponsor and leader for Outsell’s Caring Committee, an employee group created to give back to the community on a local, national and international scale.

“I am extremely honored to be given this prestigious award from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal and to be included in the company of some very impressive technology leaders,” said Harwood. “I thoroughly enjoy working with my IT team at Outsell and am very proud of the technology tools we’ve delivered to help brands better engage with consumers and increase their sales and service revenues.”

“We are very proud of Bryan and all of his many contributions to Outsell and to the community,” said Mike Wethington, President and CEO of Outsell. “Bryan has been absolutely instrumental to the great success of Outsell’s digital engagement platform and we are thrilled that the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal has recognized his accomplishments.”

Bryan Harwood was profiled along with the other CIOs of the Year in the September issue of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal and honored at a special luncheon on September 13, 2012 at the Hilton Minneapolis.
