In the third of a series of four studies, Outsell iBase Insight analyzes why speed and dealer responsiveness are critical to consumer purchase intent.

The study revealed that 82.5% of car buyers will submit a request via phone or email prior to visiting an actual dealership to purchase a vehicle. Consumer interest in purchasing a vehicle from a dealership rapidly decreases if the dealer does not respond to an information request.

of consumers stated that the speed of a dealer’s response to an information request affects the perception of a dealership and the likelihood of purchase. 

After 3 hours from initial consumer contact, 60% of consumers have lost a degree of interest in purchasing from the dealership; after 12 hours, that number rises to 76%.

Fast Purchasing Process Is Key
90%
of consumers would prefer to complete their shopping experience at the dealership in 2 hours or less.
